چکیده

A large number of engineering problems involve several conflicting objectives, which today are often solved through expensive simulation calculations. Methods based on meta-models one the approaches to solving this group problems. In paper, multiobjective optimization in extraction system a copper open-pit mine complex is presented by modified-NBI method and regression meta-model. For purpose, two objective functions maximizing amount total extraction, sum sulfide, oxide, low-grade ores, waste mine, minimizing transport time haulage according limitation its storage capacity, equipment, budget considered. The Central Composite Design (CCD) used build Experiments (DOE) for design variables. considered variables trucks 120 tons, 240 35 100 tons. targets each combination response surface. suitable meta-model maximize rate minimize haulage, modified nonlinear have been determined. accuracy models selection has done using PRESS R 2 statistics. most common error also validate meta-models. Then problem was method. Finally, Pareto optimal solutions proposed approach were discussed.

A Two-Phase Simulation-Based Optimization of Hauling System in Open-Pit Mine

One of the key issues in mining is the hauling system. Truck and shovels are the most widely used transportation equipment in mines. In this paper, a two-phase simulation-based optimization is presented to maximize utilization of hauling system in the largest Iranian open-pit copper mine. In the first phase, The OptQuest for Arena software package was used to solve the optimization problem to p...

A genetic algorithm approach for open-pit mine production scheduling

In an Open-Pit Production Scheduling (OPPS) problem, the goal is to determine the mining sequence of an orebody as a block model. In this article, linear programing formulation is used to aim this goal. OPPS problem is known as an NP-hard problem, so an exact mathematical model cannot be applied to solve in the real state. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a well-known member of evolutionary algorithms...

A Hybrid Fuzzy MCDM Approach to Determine an Optimal Block Size in Open-Pit Mine Modeling: a Case Study

The computer-based 3D modeling of ore bodies is one of the most important steps in the resource estimation, grade determination, and production scheduling of open-pit mines. In the modeling phase, the volume of the orebody model is required to be filled by the blocks and sub-blocks. The determination of Block Size (BS) is important due to the dependence of the geostatistical issues and calculat...

Meta-Modeling in Multiobjective Optimization

In many practical engineering design and other scientific optimization problems, the objective function is not given in closed form in terms of the design variables. Given the value of the design variables, the value of the objective function is obtained by some numerical analysis, such as structural analysis, fluidmechanic analysis, thermodynamic analysis, and so on. It may even be obtained by...
